'De Bruyne-esque' - Emile Smith Rowe's latest magical moment has Arsenal fans going wild

Young Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith-Rowe has got people talking with his latest goal for the club's development squad.

The 19-year-old scored what turned out to be the side's winning goal in a 2-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Friday in Premier League 2. The left sided player beat a number of players with both speed and skill before slotting the ball past the sprawling Brighton goalkeeper.

Smith-Rowe has already had a taste of first team football at the Emirates Stadium having made six senior appearances, scoring three goals, although none of these have come in the Premier League, having been an unused substitute three times in the competition.

The teenager spent the second half of last season on loan at Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, but injury problems mean he only made three appearances for the German outfit.

The player is now making a comeback from the injuries, and Arsenal development manager is pleased with his progress.

"It’s huge for him. He played 45 minutes in the first game and got to 60 today, and we were always going to take him off, so it was great that he scored just before he came off," he told the official Arsenal website .

Unai Emery: We never want to play against Liverpool

"He’s building up his fitness and as far as we know he’s having no problems with his old injury, so it’s a major plus for everybody."

Arsenal have now tweeted a video of Smith-Rowe's goal on social media, and it has gathered a response from Gunners fans, with some liking the 19-year-old to a certain Manchester City player.

Smith-Rowe will now be knocking on the door of the first team, and will be hoping to make his first Premier League appearance during the 2019/20 season.
