DAYTON, Ohio _ Dayton Flyers forward Obi Toppin broke a school record with nine dunks and scored a career-high 31 points in a 77-59 victory against North Florida on Monday at UD Arena.
Toppin dunked three in the first half and six times in the second half. Most of his dunks came on alley-oop passes. He set the previous school record of eight dunks last season.
Toppin made 15 of 24 field goals and had eight rebounds in 32 minutes.
No. 20 Dayton finished the non-conference schedule with a mark of 11-2. It opens Atlantic 10 Conference play at 7 p.m. Thursday at La Salle.
Trey Landers added 15 points for Dayton. Jalen Crutcher scored 11.Dayton shot 50% from the field and forced 21 turnovers. North Florida trailed by as many as 24 points. It made 12 of 28 3-pointers.
