Davide Ancelotti may not join up with his dad in Brazil due to the possibility of him becoming Rangers manager.
The Italian coach is a strong contender to take over at Ibrox after leaving the Real Madrid backroom staff where he was assistant to his legendary father, Carlo.
It is believed Ancelotti will hold further talks with Gers chiefs in the coming days, with the club hoping to make an appointment this week.
It had even been claimed in some quarters he was set to take over but Rangers Review reported that was premature.
Whether or not he takes the job, the 35-year-old was set to join his father in Brazil for his first matches in charge of the national team.

However, the Athletic is now reporting there are doubts around that because of his "chances to be chosen" by Rangers.
Their report claims: "In recent days, (Carlo) Ancelotti and his team have had several meetings to plan their future in Brazil.
"They are expected to travel there on Sunday.
"However, there were doubts about whether Davide Ancelotti and Francesco Mauri, Ancelotti's two main assistants, would join them because of their chances of being chosen to be the new Rangers coaching staff."
