David Tennant's wife Georgia forced to call police after receiving more vile death threats

Actress Georgia Tennant has contacted police after receiving a string of violent threats on social media.

The 40-year-old star, who is married to Doctor Who and Broadchurch actor David Tennant, shared screenshots of some of the abusive messages on her Instagram story on Friday.

The couple have been outspoken supporters of the LGBTQ+ community, particularly trans people, in recent years. However, their advocacy has also made them targets of online abuse from anonymous users.

The posts included explicit insults and death threats, with one message branding her a “dirty w****” who should “die for good.”

Some of the messages also made false references to her relationship status, with one describing her as the “ex-wife of David Tennant” and another calling her “disgusting” and telling her to “return to the streets.”

Tennant tagged both the Metropolitan Police and Instagram in her posts, calling for action to be taken against the users behind the harassment.

The incident comes just weeks after Tennant revealed she had been targeted by an alleged stalker who reportedly offered a reward for her murder.

She called on Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to take action after receiving a post that read: “Whoever kills Georgia Tennant immediately will receive a reward from me.”

Sharing the message on social media, she wrote: “Just been sent this by a friend. Out of curiosity, Facebook — what would constitute a breach of community standards?”

She later posted a screenshot of the platform’s moderator response, which stated that the message did not violate its rules and therefore would not be removed.

Earlier this year, the actress marked 17 years with her husband by sharing a heartfelt post celebrating their relationship.

She posted a series of photos from over the years and described him as “kind, funny and relentlessly generous.”

The pair have five children together. Ty, their eldest who is Georgia's son from a previous relationship and adopted by David, as well as Olive, Wilfred, Doris, and Birdie.

Georgia and David met in 2008 on the set of the BBC’s Doctor Who, where she played Jenny — the genetically engineered daughter of his character. The pair tied the knot three years later.

She is best known for her roles as Jenny in Doctor Who, Lady Vivian in Merlin, and Abigail in The Bill.
