David Luiz has thanked Arsenal fans for their support after he gave away a decisive penalty in the Gunners' defeat to Liverpool .
Brazilian centre back Luiz pulled on Mohamed Salah's shirt to hand the Reds the chance to take a 2-0 lead, after Joel Matip's header had given the Reds the lead, in the clash at Anfield.
Winger Salah composed himself to convert before he notched a third to hand Jurgen Klopp's side a 3-1 victory over the Gunners.
Luiz was also adjudged to have been at fault for the Egyptian's second, after he skipped past on the left flank.
And the defender, who joined from Chelsea this summer, insisted to Gunners supporters that he wouldn't give up.
"Life is tough and football is tough also sometimes!!!" Luiz wrote on Instagram .
"But I know one thing, I will never give up!! Was always like that my life … I came here with a goal , and I will fight until the end for that!!!
"Thank u for the fans , for all the support!!! I will never hide , wining or losing!!!"
Luiz explained after the match why he dragged Salah back for the penalty.
He said: "You cannot take that out of the players, now you cannot see with the VAR, the power (of the shirt pull is different), but I cannot complain because it is the same for me.
"If you play with an extra-large shirt now, it could be a penalty all the time, but this was just reflex. It depends on interpretations. Mo is my friend, he said he did not feel it.
"We created a lot of chances to score here, and if we scored first it could have been a different game. We can take spirit from (playing on until) the end."
