David Harbour missing from Stranger Things press tour amid Lily Allen and Millie Bobby Brown scandals

David Harbour has stayed noticeably quiet on the Stranger Things press tour amid the various scandals currently shrouding him.

The 50-year-old - who has played police chief Jim Hopper in the hit Netflix drama for five series - has hit the headlines in recent weeks.

His ex-wife Lily Allen, 40, accused him of cheating in her bombshell tell-all album West End Girl - and even named the woman he allegedly had an affair with.

Elsewhere, it was reported that Harbour’s Stranger Things co-star Millie Bobby Brown, 21, filed a complaint accusing him of “bullying and harassment” during filming of the fifth series.

The Stranger Things cast has been busy promoting the final series this month, reuniting the co-stars for the first time since series four aired in 2022.

However, Harbour appears to have taken a backseat on the promotional trail and failed to appear in a recent Time magazine video with the cast.

Castmates like Brown, Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Sadie Sink, and Caleb McLaughlin took part in an interview with the magazine and appeared in a video looking back at the show.

Harbour was nowhere to be seen in the feature, although several other prominent cast members were also missing, including Winona Ryder, Maya Hawke, and Joe Keery.

The actor has also failed to post the recently-released Stranger Things series five trailer or any similar promotional materials on his Instagram.

A source close to production told Vanity Fair that Harbour did not commit to being active on the press tour given he is currently filming another project.

The Stranger Things press tour will see the stars travel to New York, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Buenos Aires, and São Paulo, among other cities.

The Standard has contacted Harbour’s representative for comment.

Over the weekend, it was claimed Brown accused Harbour of harassment on the Stranger Things set, allegedly sparking a months-long investigation.

“Millie Bobby Brown filed a harassment and bullying claim before they started shooting the last season,” a source told the Mail on Sunday.

“There were pages and pages of accusations. The investigation went on for months.”

She was reportedly later accompanied on set by a personal representative during the final series of filming, which wrapped in December 2024.

Netflix declined to comment on the reports.

A YouTube video resurfaced this week that appeared to hint at the alleged tension between the co-stars.

Brown was seen looking seemingly uncomfortable when Harbour was brought up in conversation during an MTV interview in 2024.

She was asked by Josh Horowitz if Harbour’s Stranger Things character Hopper could officiate her wedding to Jake Bongiovi.

Brown paused and furrowed her eyebrows, replying warily: “Yes... Yes. I don’t know how I feel...”

She then added: “Sure… Matthew Modine, I think.”

Modine played role of Papa in Stranger Things and did later go on to officiate Brown and Bongiovi’s wedding. The young couple now share an adopted baby girl.
