David de Gea issues blunt four-word verdict on Manchester United's draw with Aston Villa

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has issued a damning four-word verdict after his side drew 2-2 with Aston Villa on Saturday evening.

Things had seemingly looked good for United, for the most part, and it started well when Bruno Fernandes gave the away side the lead following a cheeky free kick routine and an Emi Martinez howler.

United took their advantage into the break and doubled it after the hour mark thanks to another Fernandes strike.

Ten minutes later and the game began to run away from the visitors.

Fred's unfortunate tackle fell into the path of Jacob Ramsey who fired past De Gea to pull a goal back for Villa.

Just five minutes later substitute and new signing Philippe Coutinho lifted the roof off Villa Park by tapping home at the back stick to level the game.

United had to settle for a point which leaves them seventh in the Premier League table on 32 points.

Posting on Twitter after full-time, the Spanish stopper delivered an honest statement on the match.

He tweeted: "Disappointed. 2 points dropped."

Manchester United travel down to London on Wednesday night for their rearranged fixture against Brentford.
