David Beckham paid an emotional tribute to his family amid growing rumours of a rift between the clan and eldest son Brooklyn.
The football legend turned 50 on Friday and was commemorated with effusive social media posts by his wife Victoria Beckham, and sons Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 20 - although Brooklyn, 26, is yet to share anything online.
Amid the celebrations, Beckham shared his gratitude for his wife and “beautiful” children, as well as for his parents, sisters, and grandparents in a moving post on Instagram.
Sharing a series of sweet throwback photos, the England star wrote: “As I reflect on this birthday I'm very grateful for many things in my life the teams I've played for, my team mates, managers, the fans , MY COUNTRY and being England captain.
“The children I have met over different charities I work with, my team in my business & the friends I have around me I feel truly blessed...
“But my biggest accomplishment is and will always be my family , my mum and dad who sacrificed so much for me to live my dream of becoming a footballer.”
Beckham went on: “My sisters who had to put up with following there brother around in the freezing cold watching me play football and my amazing nan and grandad...
“My wife and best friend of 28 years and my beautiful children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz & Harper you are the reason I get out of bed each day thank you for making me smile and thank you for making me a better man...”
The Manchester United legend concluded: “I love you all so much and thank you for making today so special for me... You are my world.”
Earlier in the day, Spice Girls star Victoria, 51, shared a video of their private family moments to mark David’s birthday, which included him playing with their children, going to concerts and on holiday, her 50th birthday, feeding their chickens and dancing.

She wrote: “When I look at this video, I think, ‘Wow… how lucky am I!!’ You’re everything I could have dreamed of and more.
“Happy 50th @davidbeckham!!! I love you and our beautiful family endlessly. You complete me xxx.”
On Thursday, she had also shared a video of the two of them dancing, and singing the Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers song Islands In The Stream, written by the Bee Gees.
She penned: “My best friend, soul mate and dance partner for life. Like the song says, we start and end as one, In love forever, We can ride it together, ah ha. I love you. Happy birthday eve @davidbeckham… my everything.”
Son Romeo called his father “the most amazing role model” and wrote that he loved him “so so much,” while Cruz posted a snap of the sportsman smiling and wrote, “I love you so much dad.”
Beckham’s milestone birthday comes amid rumours that Brooklyn has been distancing himself from the rest of the family.
Last month, he failed to post online to celebrate Victoria’s 50th birthday and did not attend her lavish yacht celebrations - choosing instead to party at Coachella with his wife, actress Nicola Peltz.
Brooklyn’s silence came just weeks after his family failed to acklowledge his third wedding anniversary with Nicola.
None of his immediate family liked, shared, or commented on his and Nicola’s posts celebrating their milestone on social media, according to Mail Online.
The apparent snub follows Brooklyn and Nicola’s absence from a recent family gathering held in anticipation of David’s upcoming 50th birthday.
