Dave Cormack reignites Celtic vs Aberdeen red card row as Dons chief blasts Leigh Griffiths and Kris Ajer

Aberdeen chief Dave Cormack has come out swinging in support of Sam Cosgrove and claims Kris Ajer "feigned" injury to get the Dons striker sent off.

And the club's chairman also believes Leigh Griffiths was lucky to escape punishment for an incident involving Lewis Ferguson in the closing stages of Saturday's stormy clash at Parkhead.

Cormack reckons the Hoops striker should also have been been punished after he caught the Dons midfielder. The Hoops striker appeared to land on Ferguson but protested his innocence.

Aberdeen keeper Joe Lewis appealed to referee Euan Anderson but the man in the middle didn't book the Scotland international over the incident.

Cormack, in a Boxing Day social media rallying cry, took Celtic star Ajer to task over his role in Cosgrove's straight red.

The Englishman lost his appeal on Christmas Eve with Derek McInnes claiming the Norwegian defender "winked" in the aftermath of the dismissal.

And now Cormack has issued a warning shot aimed at Scottish football's decision makers.

He said: "Law = fairness & consistency. Sam will take his ban but the compliance officer has a duty to review Ajer feigning injury with his triple salvo and miraculous recovery after Sam gets the red.

"Griffiths lunges into Ferguson’s knee with both feet in the air. Fairness for ALL please!"

Meanwhile, Hoops boss Neil Lennon has told McInnes to mind his own business after his claims relating to Ajer.

He said: “I’m not convinced about that at all.

"Kris in’t like that. At the end of the day, he’s on the receiving end of a very heavy tackle.

“Whether he’s winking or not is irrelevant and I have no evidence he did do that. Derek should be concentrating on his own player and I’ll concentrate on mine.”
