Date hinted at for release of Junior Cert results as parents 'eagerly' await answers

Parents and students are eagerly awaiting their children’s Junior Cert results months after the exams were taken.

While there has been no official announcement on a date, an event company has claimed that a "reliable" source gave them the answer everyone is looking for.

Mint Cork - a company that focuses on organising events for local 3rd and 4th-year students - began selling tickets for a celebratory event in Curraheen Stadium and say they have as few as 100 tickets left.

In a post on their social media, they wrote: “We have been informed by a very reliable source that the results will be issued on or before October 12.”

As the confusion continues, one Irish woman who is waiting on her son’s results said she is one of many “concerned” mothers and said her child “is eagerly awaiting, like many other of his peers, to receive his Junior Cert Results.”

She highlighted that “there has been no information or updates from the school, the State Examinations, and the Department of Education on the exact or even estimated dates that students will receive their results.”

Just weeks ago it was confirmed that there was no date set for the issuing of this year's Junior Certificate results.

The State Examinations Commission told RTÉ News that the "ongoing focus" at the time was the Leaving Certificate results.

Normally the junior grades would be issued in mid-September, however, now that October is here one event company is claiming they’ll be released in a matter of weeks.

There has been no word from the Department of Education as to whether or not claims made by the event company are true, but the Irish Mirror has contacted them for an update.
