Former Ireland striker Daryl Murphy is due to return to hometown club Waterford ahead of the league’s resumption on July 31.
The veteran was last week released from Bolton Wanderers, bringing to a close a spell across the water that saw him hit 111 goals in 481 games.
Murphy featured in both the Premier League and Championship for Sunderland, clinched the second tier’s Golden Boot in 2015 for Ipswich Town, and won 33 caps for Ireland, among them starts against Italy and France at Euro 2016.
The 37-year-old played for Waterford United from 2002 to 2005 - winning the PFAI Young Player of the Year back in 2004.
On Thursday, the FAI board has ratified the decision made by the National League Executive Committee to restart the SSE Airtricity League on July 31.
The Blues sat sixth in the League of Ireland top flight when action was suspended back in March.
