Danny Rose drops transfer hint as speculation over his Tottenham future grows

Tottenham Full-back Danny Rose has hinted that he may move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

The 28-year-old has two years remaining on his current contract but has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months, with Everton, Manchester United and Manchester Cty all being linked with the player.

Rose is currently on international duty with the Three Lions and played 70 minutes of England's penalty shootout win against Switzerland in the Nations League third place play off on Sunday afternoon.

Following the match, Rose was asked about his future at N17.

"If I am [at Spurs next season], great. If not, great," he told Sky Sports.

"It’s no secret I’ve been linked with a move in the media, and it’s the club’s policy to move players on when they reach a certain age.”

Rose has been at Tottenham for 11 seasons, after joining from Leeds United's youth team in the summer of 2007. The left-back has been battling it out with Wales international Ben Davies to be Mauricio Pochettino's first choice this season.

Rose did however get the shout for the Champions League final against Liverpool and was widely praised for his performance despite the 2-0 loss on the night.

The 28-year-old has previously made his desire to return back to the North of England one day clear, but his end of season form may just convince Pochettino to keep the player for longer than he originally intended.

He revealed over the last few weeks just how close he came to leaving the club last season, with talks with other clubs breaking down over naivety surrounding the player's previous admissions about his mental health.
