Danny Grant's Huddersfield Town debut on hold after late injury

Danny Grant's hoped-for debut for Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup was scuppered due to a late hamstring issue.

Grant, 21, joined Huddersfield from Bohemians last month and was due to play against Plymouth in the FA Cup third round on Saturday - but he suffered a hamstring strain on Friday that ruled him out.

After Huddersfield's 3-2 defeat, manager Carlos Corberan said that he didn't expect Ireland under-21 international Grant to be sidelined for long and added: “He felt something in training on Friday in the hamstring.

"I think it’s related that he doesn’t have the habit of training (many times) in a row like our players are trained.

“He’s a player that usually was working like three times a week at his previous club and now his body is going to take a bit of adaptation to have the habit of training consecutively, with high intensity and with players who are in the Championship.

“This was always going to be a bit of an adaptation process that he was going to need".
