Danny Dyer 'conned' into buying fake Louis Vuitton case on eBay

Former EastEnders actor Danny Dyer was conned into buying fake designer goods on eBay - leading to an embarrassing scenario at the airport.

The 45-year-old actor thought he had found a great second hand luggage bag while online shopping - but soon learned to ‘never buy’ via the notorious web auction site.

Danny’s humiliation was publicised by his daughter Dani Dyer, 26 - who was once a winner of ITV ’s Love Island and frequently broadcasts alongside her father via podcasts.

Dani sat down for a chat with one such subscription series - and went on to reveal she felt she got ripped off herself.

Speaking on the False Economy podcast Dani explained: “We were at the airport and my dad turned up saying, ‘I’ve got this really lovely Louis Vuitton bag. It’s only a few years old.’

“Then it just snapped — all his clothes went everywhere. We had to go to a Louis Vuitton store and buy a real one.

“He got conned badly. It was really funny. He said, ‘You live and you learn. Never buy something like that off eBay’.”

Once they got abroad, Dani was out of pocket herself when she was stiffed with a bill for almost £450 just to get her underwear washed.

She said: “I got my laundry done at the hotel and it came to 500 euros.

“I thought I’d been conned, but when I looked it was six euros per knicker and 20 for a T-shirt.”

Dani has had something of a close encounter with a conman in the past.

Her former boyfriend, Sammy Kimmence - who she had an on-off romance before and after her 2018 stint on Love Island - was jailed in 2021 for fraud.

Sammy, 26, conned two elderly men out of £34,000 but was jailed for three and a half years in July 2021 - just six months after he welcomed a son named Santiago with Dani.

Dani’s dad, Danny, headed to Australia in November last year to work on a new TV show titled Heat after bowing out on EastEnders.

He played Mick Carter on the BBC One soap for nine years from 2013 - with his final scenes airing on Christmas Day last year and seemingly seeing his character be lost at sea following a car accident.

The new show he has filmed is said to be a drama about two families who venture to a secluded home for a summer holiday in Australia - just as deadly bushfires begin to spread.

Discussing his decision to quit Easties last year, Danny said: “I’ve been contemplating a while now about whether time to roll the dice, take the leap.

“The news is that I’ve not decided to renew my contract, that’s all, it’s not because I’ve fell out with anybody, that job has been amazing for me.”
