Dannii Minogue excited to turn 50 as she talks 'shocking' exercise and 'eating too much'
Dannii Minogue says she is excited to turn 50 later this month.
The former X Factor judge is looking more youthful than ever in her late forties, but she revealed her workout and diet routine has been "shocking" since Covid and described it as a "roller coaster".
The Australian songstress is looking forward to entering another chapter of her life and has "so much appreciation" for being able to turn 50.
Opening up about her life ahead of her milestone birthday, she told Body+Soul magazine : "My health has been on a Covid roller coaster. Some days I'm exercising, other days it's whatever goes."
Dannii, who is the sister of superstar Kylie Minogue, shared that she admires J-Lo, 52, for her dedication to working out, but admitted it is not for her.
Despite "piling on the kilos", Dannii tries to get the "happy balance" between exercising and spending time with her loved ones.
She continued: "I've packed on the kilos, and I just have to keep reminding myself that I'm doing the best I can. I've got a girl-crush on J-Lo, but I look at her, and all of that working out and all of that dedication is not me."
The Australian songstress confessed she much prefers to cook for her family over exercising, but she does her best to "squeeze it in".
She concluded: "My happy balance is family time. I love food – cooking it, eating it. And I have to try to squeeze in exercise. But I tell you, I have been shocking for the past few months."
On turning 50, Dannii admitted she has "never had any problem talking about my age" despite it typically being a taboo subject for women.
"But it's my birthday and I'm excited, and I've never had any problem talking about my age. I have so much appreciation for being able to turn 50," she said.
Dannii, who has a son named Ethan, has previously said she uses him as a means of working out.
She said on ITV's Lorraine: "I don't train or work out. I'm just lifting the baby - that's my weights workout.
"I do watch what I eat and I discovered this milk in Australia called a2.
"For anyone who's ever drunk milk and has just got that yucky feeling; it just doesn't agree with your body; it might upset your tummy…it's amazing."
