Daniel Levy's strange message and what the Tottenham chairman will be expecting this week

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy will be bracing himself for a hostile reception on Thursday when his team face Manchester United.

It has been another chaotic week at the north London club with an embarrassing 6-1 defeat at Newcastle, which brought five goals in the first 21 minutes. That display meant acting head coach Cristian Stellini, who had been Antonio Conte's assistant, was sacked after just four matches and had to be replaced by another acting head coach in his own assistant Ryan Mason.

Mason will now have to get Tottenham back on track but faces two tough matches immediately in the shape of United and then a trip to Liverpool on Sunday.

However, it will be Levy who could be more concerned about Thursday night's home game against Erik ten Hag's United side. With the fanbase growing increasingly weary and frustrated at his decision-making at the top, the chants for his exit are expected to reach new levels this week, with a protest also planned outside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Our Tottenham correspondents Alasdair Gold and Rob Guest discussed all of the above and the latest on the managerial situation, as well as Mauricio Pochettino's imminent move to Chelsea, on the latest episode of their podcast Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham.
