Daniel Jeremiah’s new mock draft has Cardinals landing stud WR, CB in 1st round

The first batch of big-name mock drafts have been released. This will be of interest for Arizona Cardinals fans as Arizona has two first-round picks in the 2024 NFL draft. They have the fourth overall selection and acquired the Houston Texans’ selection in a trade last year. That pick is No. 27 overall.

NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah released his first mock draft of the year and the name for the Cardinals with the fourth pick is what pretty much every Cardinals fan wants to see. The second pick fills a big need.

Pick No. 4: Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr.

Nov 18, 2023; Columbus, Ohio, USA;.

The first three picks in the draft are quarterbacks, which is ideal for Arizona. They are able to land one of the most exciting receiver prospects to come out in years.

This is a perfect scenario for the Cardinals, with Harrison falling right into their lap. I’ve compared the former Buckeyes star to franchise icon Larry Fitzgerald.

The Cardinals need a receiver badly. Harrison has size, speed, playmaking skills and is the son of a Hall of Fame receiver. It is a perfect match and would basically complete the Cardinals’ offense.

Pick No. 27: Iowa CB Cooper DeJean

David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

Their second first-round pick is used on defense at cornerback. The Cardinals added two cornerbacks in the draft last year (Garrett Williams, Kei’Trel Clark) and also had two undrafted rookies — Starling Thomas and Divaad Wilson — start games.

DeJean is an oddity as he is a White cornerback, something the league hasn’t seen since Jason Sehorn. However, he is versatile and could play all over the secondary.

The Cardinals can take the best player available with their second pick in Round 1. DeJean has the versatility to play any position in the secondary.
