The 21-year-old began dating footballer Jamie, 27, after meeting him in the Love Island villa earlier this year.
Danica and Jamie appeared to be going from strength to strength after leaving the villa – as they were spotted out and about together in various occasions.
However, the dancer and footballer's romance was clear to have ended after Danica was pictured kissing The Only Way Is Essex star Roman Hackett outside a train station last week.
A source claimed to the Daily Mail at the time: "Danica and Jamie have gone their separate ways. They did make their relationship official but have decided that they didn't quite work together romantically.
"Jamie has just signed for a new football team and Danica is busy pursuing endless opportunities after leaving the Love Island villa and they sadly drifted apart.
"They're good friends still and will continue to support each other in everything they do," the source added.
However, Danica has now insisted she and Jamie were never an official item and she and 20-year-old Roman are "just friends".
Speaking to the Mirror on the red carpet for the People's Pet Awards, Danica explained: "Me and Jamie were never together. We came out the villa and we very much liked each other and things were going well, but it sort of started to fizzle out – he has his life, I have mine.
"It's not quite worked out as we planned but it doesn't mean that there wouldn't necessarily be anything in the future it just means that right now we're just doing our own thing.
"I've got nothing but good words to say about him and, who knows really. What will be will be."
And when asked about the photographs of herself and Roman, Danica responded: "That is very... It's been misconstrued a lot it was just a goodbye kiss, it looks a lot worse than what it is.
"He's a friend and nothing more. I'm not seeing Roman we'll clear that right up."
Asked if she was single, Danica said: "I am single, I am indeed. Ready to take on the world!"
It comes after Danica revealed she had set her sights on Dancing on Ice after leaving the Love Island villa.
Speaking exclusively to the Mirror at the Married At First Sight UK launch party this week, Danica opened up about the opportunities that could come her way.
"We'll just see. I'm an entertainer, I'm a performer," she said. "Anything really! I wanna be in the TV industry still, I'd love to carry on. But, we'll just see whatever comes my way and is organic for what I stand for."
And as we suggested Dancing on Ice, Danica replied: "I would love to but we shall see."
Danica, who recently revealed regrets over not confronting Paige Thorne in the villa, continued: "I would snap that up, yeah. It's very me, why not and I've always thought about doing stuff like that so yeah, it'd be great!"
