Dani Dyer opens up about mental health struggles as a new mum in documentary

Dani Dyer has revealed she will be starring in her very own Channel 4 show, in which she will discuss what it’s like to be a young mum struggling with anxiety.

The former Love Island contestant, 26, is mother to her son, Santiago, who she gave birth to in January 2021, and is currently pregnant with twins.

In her new programme, she will speak about the pressure and loneliness she experienced when she became a mother for the first time, which caused the anxiety she already suffered to become much worse.

The social media influencer will also open up about the pressure women face in order to be seen as a “good mum”.

Speaking about the 60-minute episode, Dani said: “Anxiety is a topic that everyone’s heard about, but we still don’t openly talk about our experiences. It can affect anyone, but as a young mum, it can be overwhelming.

“I’m really excited to be working with E4 and Summer Films to explore this topic, remove the stigma associated with mental health and meet other mums who have struggled with the pressures of what a supposed ‘good mum’ looks like.”

The reality star, who is the daughter of actor Danny Dyer, took to social media to ask if anyone else was struggling under the pressures of becoming a parent, and if they had seen their anxiety spiral as a result.

The conversations are set to feature in the film, Dani Dyer : Is This Anxiety?

Dani announced she was expecting twins in January this year, with West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen.

She shares son Santiago with ex-boyfriend Sammy Kimmence.

Dani has recently moved back in with her parents while her new home with Jarrod is being done up.

Danny spoke about spending time with Dani, saying: "Dani's only got a couple of months now before she gives birth and she's doing so well.

"She's actually moved back in with us while her new house gets sorted and it's been so lovely having her around. I've got so much respect for that kid, she's amazing," reports Closer magazine.
