Angry Dancing On Ice fans took to social media to claim Faye Brookes was 'unfairly' scored after her performance of Swan Lake.
Viewers watching at home loved her elegant skate with professional partner Hamish Gaman, so they were shocked when the four judges returned an overall score of 32.5 out of a possible 40.
They said she deserved nines and 10s from the panel.
Judge John Barrowman admitted to the former Coronation Street star Faye, who is a favourite to win the ITV celeb skating contest, that they were 'nit-picking' because of her ability.
"You're at a level where we need to nit-pick," he told her.
Fellow judge Ashley Banjo told her: "It felt easy. It felt empty."
And skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean told the actress, from Flixton, that they wanted to see more from her.
"I think we need to take some risks now," said Jayne.
And while Chris said she was one of the best skaters they had seen on their show, he remarked: "I think you could challenge yourself more."
Asked what she felt about their critique, Faye said she wasn't disappointed.
She told the judges: "Keep pushing me."
But on Twitter the disappointed comments came flooding in.
"I'm genuinely upset for Faye," said one fan.
"She's being unfairly held to a higher standard than the others and for what? Being talented?"
And another said about the comments: "So they’ve just confirmed that think Faye is the best and that they’re going to score her differently. Yeah, that seems fair. "
"Faye must be so disheartened, she’s coming out and killing it every week but yet she’s not getting the scores she deserves!" said another fan.
"Yes it’s good to have constructive criticism but if someone else would have done that it would have got 9’s."
Another raged: "Ashley seriously have a word with yourself!!! Want to see more !!! Faye was amazing!!! Like to see you do it."
Another commented: "Honestly thought Faye and Hamish were two professional skaters and they get given 7.5 absolutely shocked."
"Faye and Hamish totally deserved a 9 or 10 for that. I thought they were brilliant!!" praised another viewer.
Another remarked: "Sorry but that was worth at least a 9. Elegance all the way through."
And another viewer fumed: "Think Faye could of walked on water and the judges would of gave her a s**t score."
Faye played Corrie's Kate Connor from 2015 to 2019 and won a National Television Award for Best Newcomer in January 2017.
