Dancing on Ice's Siva and Mollie axed before final in brutal double elimination

Dancing on Ice has confirmed its final line-up as the ITV competition aired a brutal double dumping on Sunday evening, which saw Siva Kaneswaran and Mollie Gallagher exit the competition.

The ITV celebrity talent competition returned for the semi-finals with This Morning stars Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby once again hosting rinkside as The Vivienne, Joey Essex, Nile Wilson, Siva Kaneswaran and Mollie Gallagher skated.

The remaining five celebrities and their partners took to the ice twice as they fought for their places in the climax to the competition, under the watchful eyes of judges Oti Mabuse, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.

The Dancing on Ice stars faced their toughest challenge yet, as each delivered two performances in a bid to impress both the judges and viewers at home.

A double elimination was lined up for this weekend’s semi-final, with two celebrities exiting the competition to leave three to take to the ice next weekend and battle it out to bag the Dancing on Ice win.

The three stars to land in the skate-off were Siva and Mollie alongside Joey Essex – who ultimately went through to the final next weekend when all four judges chose him to save.

Reflecting on her time on the show, Corrie star Mollie told Holly and Phil: "It's truly been the best experience. It's everything I thought I couldn't do and I literally got to the semi-final."

Turning to her partner Sylvain Longchambon, she said the professional skater had been 'amazing' as the pair shared a hug.

She said: "He's the most patient and talented person. Truly the best experience."

Siva said: "I did what I needed to do on the show. I've come in here, I've celebrated my family, my friends, Tom and I'm just so happy and proud of all of us for doing so well."

Mollie added: "I've achieved everything I wanted to. I did it week one. I just wanted to get to this week, do my personal skate, and I've done it. I'm so happy."

It comes after Carley Stenson broke down in tears as she was eliminated from Dancing on Ice last Sunday.

The 40-year-old actress – who is best known for her role as Steph Cunningham in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks – had been competing in the ITV1 skating competition alongside Mark Hanretty.

She became emotional after missing out on a place in this week's semi-final episode and admitted she will 'miss' her professional partner.

She told hosts Holly and Phillip last weekend: “It just got harder. I'm gonna miss this man. I've really enjoyed it, this is all a bit of a blur actually.”

Dancing on Ice continues Sunday, 6:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
