Dancing On Ice's Christopher Dean hits back at booing skaters and tells them to 'shut up'

Dancing On Ice's Christopher Dean left viewers stunned after he told the booing skaters to 'shut up'.

The 62-year-old ice skater and Dancing On Ice judge was thrilled by Sonny Jay's performance on the ice this evening, but decided to give the star some constructive criticism to work on.

Skaters watching the show from behind the scenes then booed the judge, to which Christopher had a stern response.

Chris actually began his critique of Sonny with rave reviews of their latest performance on the ice.

"You know, when a routine starts and it makes me sit up and smile and be engaged with it, that's what you were able to do for me,"; Chris said.

"And so, the choreography, the ability, the franticness of it and yet in control - well I hope so anyway.

He then added: "It could have been a higher mark, it could have been 7.5 but your judges challenge, the spin was a little bit weak.

"So, when you get those judges challenges, really start working on those to improve on them."

The skaters then began to boo and share their disapproval of Christopher's remarks, but the Dancing On Ice judge had a stern response.

"Ey, shut up you lot," Chris hit back.

Viewers found the moment hilarious.

"Chris telling them to shut up #DancingOnIce," one viewer wrote alongside a laughing face emoji.

"Something about Chris telling the fake audience to shut up is killing me #DancingOnIce #DOI," teased another viewer.

Sonny Jay and his professional skate partner Angela Egan were thrilled with their positive feedback, having achieved one of the highest scores of the evening.

It came one week after the skating pair won a free pass through to next week as voted for by judges

Capital FM presenter Sonny said at the time: "Honestly I wasn't expecting it but thank you so much, I am so chuffed and I am going to be back for musical week and I've got a banging number!"
