Dancing On Ice judge Ashley Banjo responds to backlash over scoring as viewers say he 'messed up'

Ashley Banjo had to bear the brunt of Dancing On Ice fans anger on Sunday night.

The ITV skating competition judge was back on the panel alongside John Barrowman, Jayne Torvil and Christopher Dean as the celebrities took to the ice for dance week.

But viewers took to social media to criticise the marking for this week's performances, with some saying Ashley 'messed up'.

Host Holly Willoughby even quipped during the show: "Are you alright, Ashley?" as his scores remained lower than his fellow judges.

"More unfair marking from Ashley :))) it looked easy because Faye’s the best skater in the competition #DancingOnIce," tweeted one.

Another said: "Half a point more for Faye than Rebekah, come on Ashley you really messed up tonight @dancingonice @AshleyBanjo."

"#DancingOnIce Ashley banjo is so wrong tonight, its dancing on ice, not on a dance floor, he's on the wrong show," a third moaned.

Capital FM and I'm A Celeb star Roman Kemp, who is supporting Sonny Jay on the show, also got involved tweeting: "Only one person can kick Ashley off the panel for these bad scores tonight... #DancingOnIce," alongside a clip of viral hit Jackie Weaver.

But after a lot of negative responses, Ashley, 32, responded.

He tweeted: "If you disagreed with the scoring tonight I hope you voted... let’s see what happens. Well done everybody who skated #DancingOnIce."

The viewers votes saw Colin Jackson and newbie Matt Richardson placed in the bottom two.

After making his debut after being drafted in as a reserves, it was Matt and pro-partner Vicky Ogden who were kicked out of the competition.
