Dancing on Ice finalists tease 'very high risk' routines in last 2023 grudge match

The Dancing on Ice final this weekend is rapidly approaching, as The Vivienne, Joey Essex and Nile Wilson go head to head to triumph in the 2023 series.

The grand finale this Sunday will see the three finalists each perform three routines in one last grudge match for the ITV talent competition trophy.

The trio of finalists appeared on Good Morning Britain on Friday from the show’s ice rink, to speak with hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard in the ITV studio.

Bookies favourite and Olympic gymnast Nile teased what viewers can expect from the final, as the pressure is on.

He said: “We’ve got some exciting things in store this Sunday, so you need to tune in. It's very, very high risk routines, but we’re all going for it.”

Joey, The Vivienne and Nile secured a place in the Dancing On Ice grand final following a dramatic double elimination in the semi-final.

The five remaining celebrities skated twice during last Sunday’s episode before a dreaded skate-off saw the judging panel unanimously vote to save The Only Way is Essex star, sending home Mollie Gallagher and Siva Kaneswaran.

The ITV celebrity talent competition returned for the semi-finals with This Morning stars Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby once again hosting rinkside.

The remaining five celebrities and their partners took to the ice twice as they fought for their places in the climax to the competition, under the watchful eyes of judges Oti Mabuse, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.

Reflecting on her time on the show, Corrie star Mollie told Holly and Phil: "It's truly been the best experience. It's everything I thought I couldn't do and I literally got to the semi-final."

Turning to her partner Sylvain Longchambon, she said the professional skater had been 'amazing' as the pair shared a hug.

She said: "He's the most patient and talented person. Truly the best experience."

Siva said: "I did what I needed to do on the show. I've come in here, I've celebrated my family, my friends, Tom and I'm just so happy and proud of all of us for doing so well."

Mollie added: "I've achieved everything I wanted to. I did it week one. I just wanted to get to this week, do my personal skate, and I've done it. I'm so happy."

Dancing on Ice returns for its final 2023 episode on Sunday, 6:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
