Dance 4 Homelessness: 2000s legend Mr C among DJs taking part in club night to raise money for Dublin homeless

A special club night which will be DJed by a number of 2000s legends is set to raise thousands for homeless people in Dublin.

This Friday, March 25 sees The Button Factory in Temple Bar play host to Dance 4 Homelessness, a special club night which aims to raise funds for the Peter McVerry Trust.

House and dance fans are in for a treat as the line-up, spread out over two rooms, includes The Shamen front man Mr C as well as Mr Spring, Mark Kavanagh, Francois, Dean Sherry and Irish OldSkool Collectives.

Organiser Dean Sherry revealed that the event has been two years in the making, having been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Amazing lineup of legends all under one roof and more importantly 1 amazing homegrown cause with all proceeds going to @pmvtrust to help improve the lives on our own streets & families impacted by homelessness," he wrote on social media.

In a video message about the upcoming club night, Mr C said of the event: "I'm really excited to be coming to Dublin at last.

"It's an amazing line-up. It's absolutely stacked and it's going to be brilliant. And it's a fantastic cause helping the people on the streets of Dublin, which is a cause that's very dear to my heart."

"We're going to have a of fun," he added.

According to organisers, 9,000 people in Ireland are currently experiencing homelessness.

"Many people today are only one pay check away from homelessness," they said.

Phever has previously raised over €15,000 for mental health charities with its special fundraising events.

Tickets for Dance 4 Homelessness this Friday, March 25 at The Button Factory are on sale now for between €22.20 and €27.55 via Eventbrite.
