Dan Walker's very early BBC Breakfast text to Louise Minchin leaves her raging

Dan Walker was left in his BBC Breakfast co-host's bad books thanks to a very early text on Tuesday morning.

He messaged Louise Minchin, 51, at half three in the morning, ten minutes before her already painfully early alarm for the TV show was due to go off.

The TV presenter, 43, shared a screenshot of their text exchange when she told him off for waking her up too early.

Dan had text her asking if she'd had any briefs for Tuesday's show and she responded with a devil emoji, telling him: "I don't wake up until 3:40!"

He was quick to apologise, saying: "I imagine it's too late to say 'sorry'.

"Sorry. See you later."

Dan took to Twitter to share the screenshot as he admitted he was feeling guilty about waking Louise up.

He tweeted: "I have apologised to Louise for waking her up with a text at 3:30 this morning.

"I owe her some sort of cake.

"She was - understandably - not best pleased."

Dan added the grimacing, sleeping and alarm emojis to finish off the post.

His tweet left his 643,000 Twitter followers in stitches as many said they understood why Louise was annoyed.

One tweeted: "10 extra minutes sleep at that time in the morning surely means everything!"

"Never disturb a lady's beauty sleep Dan!" another posted.

A third said: "Tut tut Dan you should know never to wake a lady up early from her beauty sleep."

"That 10 mins is everything!" another wrote.
