Damar Hamlin Honored at SB With Medical Staff That Saved Him

After going into cardiac arrest on the field during the Bills-Bengals game on Monday Night Football, Buffalo safety Damar Hamlin appears to be on the road to recovery.

Prior to Super Bowl LVII between the Chiefs and Eagles, Hamlin was celebrated by the NFL on the field along with the medical professionals instrumental in saving his life on Jan. 2.

According to the public address announcer, the professionals surrounding Hamlin included representatives of the Buffalo and Cincinnati teams as well as from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center’s staff.

Hamlin collapsed on the field after attempting a routine tackle on Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. Trainers resuscitated him on the field and he was taken to the hospital, where he gradually recovered; the game was postponed and later canceled.

Buffalo fell to the Bengals in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs, 27–10, on Jan. 22; Kansas City then defeated Cincinnati to reach the Super Bowl.
