Dallas police shooting: Suspect in standoff at garage tells officers 'more will die'

Downtown Dallas has not yet been secured for residents as a shooting suspect claims to have planted explosives claims to have planted explosives throughout the area.

Earlier, Chief Brown said that the suspect told officers that “the end is coming” and "more will die". They also claimed to have planted bombs in the garage and in the surrounding area.

Eleven officers were shot as sniper fire broke out during a protest against police violence. Five of the officers – one of whom was an officer for the city’s public transit system, DART – died. One civilian was injured.

Shots rang out shortly before 9 pm local time as hundreds of peaceful protesters gathered to protest the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile – two black men killed by police officers within 48 hours of each other.
