Dak Prescott on viral video: 'More people need to pick up their trash'

FRISCO, Texas _ Dak Prescott never thought throwing an empty Gatorade cup in the trash would cause so much attention.

But picking up his garbage late in the fourth quarter on Sunday was caught by a CBS camera. And now it has become a popular social media video.

Many are calling it an example of Prescott's impressive character. The Cowboys' rookie quarterback isn't taking it that far.

"More people need to pick up their trash if it was that big of a deal," Prescott said Tuesday. "I just simply missed the garbage can and didn't think much of it. I got up and put my trash where it belongs."

Prescott said he has not heard from the "Don't mess with Texas" folks about a possible endorsement.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday morning that he was proud of Prescott's actions. Head coach Jason Garrett simply called Prescott a "neat-freak."

The team often plays a game in the locker room where they shoot an over-sized tennis ball into a clothes hamper. Prescott is one of the better shooters on the team.

So why the miss on Sunday?

"I mean, I don't shoot behind my back too much," Prescott said. "I think the garbage can was kind of behind me. It was a little flip back. It still had some ice in it, so it threw off the rotation."
