Dad spends £1,000 on Prime energy drinks as Christmas presents for his children

A dad went all out on Christmas Day to ensure his two sons were pleased with their gifts. The father spent a whopping £1,000 on caseloads of Prime energy drinks to gift to his children - who were both left beaming.

A shopkeeper took to TikTok to film the exchange, where the father paid way over the £1.99 RRP. In the clip, Wakey Wines owner Abdul asked: "So how much have you spent in total?" The parent replied while holding one of the packs "£1,000."

Abdul said: "£1,000 and you just bought all this for a Christmas present, yeah?" He then turned to the boys and said: "You've got a good daddy, I'll give you a bag of free candy, it's on me."

Viewers were shocked at how much the man paid, with some commenting on the post. One said: "U know ur rich when u walk out of Wakey Wines with Prime." While another wrote: "Wait until the dad sees it in Asda for £2...,"

Prime was first launched in America before hitting UK shelves and was originally sold exclusively in Asda. On its release some months ago, it instantly became a viral hit - especially with teens and young children, the Mirror reports.

In fact, it was so popular that the supermarket limited the amount of cans per person. Just before Christmas, Aldi announced it was also going to be selling the drink - but for one day only.

And once again, shoppers flocked to stores in their thousands to try and get one. The grocer said it wasn't going to be restocking it once it sold out - making it even more coveted.

Prime Hydration - as it's officially called - is a 25-calorie concoction of coconut water, electrolytes and zero-added sugar in 500ml of vaguely fruity liquid. It's the brainchild of YouTube mega stars KSI and Logan Paul - the former boxing rivals teamed up to create the marketing magic.
