A woman has said she "can't thank staff enough" for finding her dad's lost wedding ring before his diamond wedding anniversary with his late wife.
On Tuesday, August 31, great-grandad John Craven went shopping, drove to get diesel and then went to a local car wash in St Helens before returning home.
But as he was doing the dishes later on, John, 77, realised his wedding ring was missing and in a panic called his daughter Sharon George.

Sharon, 53, said the family were "devastated" that the ring was lost, not because of it's value but due to sentimental reasons, as this month marks what would have been her dad's 60th wedding anniversary with mum Margaret, who died in 2015.
Sharon told the ECHO that the family thought the ring was lost for good, but was surprised when she received a phone call around 45 minutes later.
She said: "I was minding my granddaughter and he phoned me and said I've lost my wedding ring.
"He was doing the dishes and then phoned me and I said check the bowl or if it’s in the sink at the bottom.
"I said have you been anywhere else and he said he went to B&M for some bread, then to Tesco to get diesel as he does every week and then to the car wash. I said we’ll ring them all and see if it has been handed in.
"He was actually crying and trembling. He was shaking.
"He said it’s not worth a lot of money but I said it’s not about the money. It’s gold and it’s worth a bit if it goes to the wrong people. I didn't think we'd get it back and I think that's what upset him more."
Sharon’s sister phoned B&M and Tesco while she rang IMO Car Wash on Denton's Green Lane.
The employee she spoke to explained that they due to coronavirus, they do not go into cars unless it is having a service inside, but "hate when anything like that happens" and would search the site.
Around 45 minutes later, Sharon received a call to say the wedding ring had been found.
Sharon said: "As he was driving out my dad had stopped to fix his wing mirror so we think it’s slipped off then.
"When I rang him and said it had been found he said no no. I said I'll pick you up and we can go down together to thank them."

Sharon said her dad had lost weight and the family hadn't realised that his wedding ring had become too big.
She said the gesture was even more important as this month marks the 60th wedding anniversary of her parents. John's wife, Margaret, died just before Christmas in December 2015.
Sharon said: "He was devastated because we lost my mum six years ago and that’s one of the sentimental things he’s kept all the way through. I said to them I can't thank you enough.
"There are some true people out there."
Sharon went to put a review on IMO Car Wash's website but couldn't figure out how to, so instead posted about the kind gesture on a local Facebook group.

The post reads: "Want to thank the guys who worked at the car wash for finding my dads wedding ring.
"It had slipped off his finger when he’s got out the car, he only noticed it had gone when he got home.
"Rang them straight away an they went looking for it . Sentimental being 60 years of marriage and mum no longer with us.
"So once again thank you so much."
