Dad and daughter shocked by message written by McDonald's staff on takeaway receipt

A dad and daughter were left speechless when they were handed a receipt for their McDonald's takeaway -  which included an unexpected message.

Emily Timmins, 18, from Norris Green , was going through the drive through at the Mcdonald's at Stonedale Retail Park with her dad Vinny Timmins, 49, on December 22, when they were asked to park up and come inside the fast foot outlet to collect their order, because it was too busy.

The 18-year-old said: "They normally write your registration number on your receipt so they know which car to go too."

But when Emily and her dad went to the counter to collect their food, Emily said they were asked "sheepishly" by the staff member, "do you want your receipt?"

And after asking for the receipt to be handed over, there was no scribbled down registration number, instead written on the top of the receipt was a message which read: "Silver (bald)."

Emily told the ECHO: "My dad looked at the receipt and laughed. Then he looked up and said 'you cheeky bugger.'

"And the man just said 'they don't make my life easy do they.'"

Emily said her dad "couldn't stop laughing" about what happened afterwards.

She said: "I was crying laughing and he couldn't stop laughing either."

Following the incident, Emily took to Facebook to share what happened in a status, along with a photo of the receipt and her and her dad together.

And the post soon went viral, with people liking and sharing it hundreds of times.

Emily said: "People have been recognising him since it happened.

"He went to an Everton match and the man next to him said his daughter recognised us both off Facebook.

"We still can't stop laughing now."
