A dad and his young daughter escaped with their lives after clinging to a tree for two days as cyclone-induced floodwater swelled around them.
They spent 48 hours clawing at branches as torrential floodwater rose around their tree in Gympie, an area of Wide Bay-Burnett in Queensland, Australia.
They first ran into trouble at around 1pm on Sunday when they had to clamber out of their car after water began filling the vehicle.
While standing on the roof of the sinking motor, they were swept into a tree which they climbed.
The father bravely went back into the car to grab a rope, which allowed him to latch them both tightly to the steady branches.

Days later the floodwaters dipped, which allowed them to return home where they raised the alarm.
The Royal Automobile Club of Queensland deployed a LifeFlight Recue chopper crew to find them, the organisation said.
On admission to hospital they were treated for insect bites, dehydration and exposure.
They were not the only Queenslanders facing traumatic survival situations this weekend as local townspeople battled the lashing floods to save their homes after a levee broke.

The Toowoomba chopper crew, which saved the dad and his youngster, also swooped in to save a man who sustained back injuries after driving into floodwaters in the Gympie region in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The man who was in his 50s managed to clamber out of his vehicle before walking for under a mile and then found a house to summon help.
He was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, which is around 60km from the floods, after suffering back injuries.
The terrifying weather came after ex-cyclone Seth continued wreaking havoc on the region.

A record 670mm of heavy rain lashed the area during a 24-hour period over the weekend.
And a new threat is looming as second cyclone - which has been dubbed Tiffany - looks set to smash into communities on the Queensland coast.
A major flood situation has been declared, with 141 calls for help being recorded in the North Coast Region between Friday morning and Saturday afternoon, Daily Mail Australia reports.

Tragedy has already struck when a young man, 22, was found dead in a submerged yute in Kanigan, and area north of Gympie. It came after the vehicle was swept out on Friday evening.
Police also fear the worst for a teen girl who was swept away as she tried to escape from a flooding Toyota Camry with a man in his 40s.
