D-Day for Oran Kearney and St Mirren as Buddies boss demands decision

Oran Kearney wants his St Mirren future decided today after his bitter midweek bust-up with chairman Gordon Scott.

Kearney is willing to take charge of pre-season training tomorrow even if he is still in limbo but insists the situation should be resolved before then.

Scott has been in America for the last few days but there appears to be no way back for the manager.

Scott wants Kearney to move permanently to Scotland while the Ulsterman is determined to continue commuting to Northern Ireland after matches to spend time with his wife Lauren and their young children.

Kearney has told Scott the arrangement worked last season with St Mirren staying in the Scottish Premiership via a play-off success over Dundee United and he believes he can make it work again in the coming campaign.

Kearney has admitted to missing his family while in Scotland and has been left shocked by how things have unravelled in the past week.

He looks to be on his way out of the club.

Kearney's former club Coleraine will watch developments closely.

Over six weeks after sacking Rodney McAree, they have yet to appoint a new boss and will be keen to lure Kearney back to the club.
