A cyclist has been taken to hospital with leg injuries after a crash close to the Formby Bypass.
The accident happened at 7.44am on Thursday (May 2) and involved a woman on a bike and a white Mercedes.
Police blocked North End Lane, close to the Formby Bypass , at its junction with Moss Lane.

Traffic has built up in the area and has been diverted towards the Pheasant Pub.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police t old the ECH O:"A woman has been sent to hospital with suspected leg injuries."
One person reported on Twitter: "Lots of police activity on Formby Bypass (Southport Bound). Five or six police cars and a van surrounding a white car.
Merseyside Police have said the incident is not currently affecting the the Formby Bypass and that traffic is free flowing in that area.
