A cyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was involved in a collision with a car in Bury.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on A56 Manchester Road in Whitefield at around midday this afternoon.
The incident took place near to the junction with Sunny Bank Road and the Mercedes Benz garage.
An eyewitness shared an image with the M.E.N of an air ambulance that landed in a patch of grass nearby.
The patient is male but no further details of his age or current condition were available.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "We've had a collision between a car and a cyclist.
"The cyclist has serious injuries and has been taken to hospital."

A scene is in place on Manchester Road and is likely to remain there for some time as police investigate the incident.
Drivers are being advised to avoid the area.
Transport for Greater Manchester tweeted: "Travel Update: A56 Bury New Road, Whitefield is closed in both directions between Radcliffe New Road and Hollins Brow due to a police incident.
"Seek an alternative route."
