Cyclist robbed at knifepoint during 'nasty and violent' incident in broad daylight

Police say a cyclist was robbed of his bike at knifepoint and pushed to the floor by thieves.

The incident occurred as a man crossed Clifton Lane and Nobel Road in Clifton at around 10.35am on Friday, December 11.

He was approached by two men, one on a bike. During a brief scuffle the victim was threatened with a knife and his bike was stolen.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The first suspect is described as white, around six foot and in his early 20s. He was wearing a navy tracksuit with orange writing on the left hand side, a navy body warmer, white trainers, black gloves and a balaclava.

The second suspect is described as around six feet tall and between 20 and 30 years old. He was wearing a black balaclava, black gloves, black Nike trainers (potentially Airforce 1), a black hooded sweatshirt and black tracksuit bottoms.

The stolen bike, meanwhile, is described as a GT Aggressor mountain bike with white frame, black writing, red handlebars, spokes and seat post.

Detective Sergeant Karl Thomas, of Nottinghamshire Police’s specialist robbery unit, said: “This was a nasty and violent knife-point robbery and we are determined to track down the people responsible as quickly as possible.

“If you were in the area at around 10.30am yesterday or if you saw two men matching these descriptions later in the morning we’d like to hear from you.

“So if you have any information that may he our enquiry please call 101 quoting incident 262 of 11 December. Alternatively you can contact Crimestopeers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
