Customers outraged as 'grinning' man in Nazi Halloween fancy dress arrives at restaurant

Customers were left outraged after a grinning man in a Nazi Halloween fancy dress costume turned up to a restaurant.

Guests at a New York City eatery were enjoying a Saturday night out when suddenly a man in a full Nazi outfit, wering a swastika armband, turned up to Fanelli Cafe, in the trendy SoHo neighbourhood.

The unidentified man is seen grinning and laughing as he enters the popular restaurant and casually heads towards the bar to order a drink.

One woman can be seen putting her hand over her face in shock and another man is seen glaring at him.

A woman can be heard shouting 'what is wrong with you?' and one man shouts 'get out of here'.

One customer can be seen leaving the bar as a diner shouts 'what the f**k was that?'.

In the clip, which was posted to Twitter by a horrified customer, the user wrote: ''A guy just walked into fanelli cafe in soho dressed as a nazi. I have no words.'

The man is seen shrugging his shoulders and laughing despite the huge upset he caused to customers.

He even berates one customer and shouts 'F**k you mate' as he brushed off the criticism from angry diners.

However, customers start threatening the man to leave the establishment as one man is heard saying 'You want to get f—ed up? [Leave] for your own safety'.

Despite the outpouring of anger the man is seen hovering near the doors to the bar and remains undeterred by the criticism.

One customer became visibly upset by the man's costume and stood up from him and pointed to where the exit was.

In the 18 second video, which has caused huge outrage on Twitter, social media users were left horrified at the man's actions.

He was immediately called out for his costume and told to leave by the customers and staff (mattxiv/Twitter)

One user said: "Wow, imagine your life is so sad and pathetic at this point that the only way you can do something fun is to purposefully p*ss everyone off by doing the most offensive thing possible."

Another added: "Why he’s mad he’s getting kicked out? Like did he think he wouldn’t get people upset with this costume or something."

The video has more than 87,000 likes and over 3,400 comments with people expressing their dismay and anger towards the man.

A user was so horrified to see the video in 2022: "Honestly is so disgusting to still see stuff like this in 2022. People seem to think it was a long time, when in fact I’m only the 2nd generation after the Holocaust."

Social media users were pleased to see customers act swiftly and call the man out, one user said: "Thankfully they tossed him out. It's going to get worse unless people decide not to put up with it."

The incident comes just days after an antisemitic message was written on the TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida, after the Florida Gators and the Georgia Bulldogs game on Saturday evening.

The sickening message said: 'Kanye is right about the Jews.'

The antisemitic comment was criticised by both teams in a joint-statement: "'The University of Florida and the University of Georgia together condemn these and all acts of antisemitism and other forms of hatred and intolerance.

"We are proud to be home to strong and thriving Jewish communities at UGA and UF, and we stand together against hate."
