Curtis Pritchard cornered by Amy Hart and branded 'brain dead' in awkward gaffe

Love Island's Curtis Pritchard had a trying time on last night's red carpet at ITV's Palooza.

He was working as a correspondent for Lorraine at the glitzy party in London, when he suddenly found himself face to face with ex Amy Hart .

The two had been coupled up in the Love Island villa this summer, but they broke up after Amy fell in love with Curtis while he was developing feelings for another girl.

Heartbroken Amy sobbed at their split and ended up quitting the villa altogether and going home.

Curtis, who is now dating fellow islander Maura Higgins , grabbed Amy for a chat while she walked the red carpet last night.

Amy told him mysteriously: "I need to ask you something later actually, in secret!"

They then had an awkward conversation about the meaning of the word "palooza".

"Palooza, party, of course!", said Amy.

"Of course it’s correct.

"I am always correct!", she added, in a not-so-subtle hint.

Afterwards, Amy explained to The Sun that she had been nervous to speak to Curtis.

"He grabbed me for an interview because he's working the red carpet", she said.

"I fumbled my words because I didn't expect to see him."

"It was a bit awkward. It always is when you bump into an ex - never mind getting interviewed by them!"

Curtis then tried to recover by having a chat with Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan, but he didn't have much luck with that either.

Piers slammed all of the Love Island contestants as "brain dead zombies", leaving Curtis to politely say "you know what? I'm going to agree with you!"

Lorraine Kelly praised Curtis for his efforts, before making a claim about Curtis and Amy's reunion on the carpet.

She said on her show this morning: "They styled it out quite well, but there's obviously a little bit of tension but it was okay."
