Captain Pat Cummins expects young allrounder Cameron Green to fire in Australia's three-Test showdown with South Africa.
Australia will face the Proteas in a red-ball match for the first time since the infamous 2018 tour of South Africa when the first Test gets underway at the Gabba on Saturday.
This eagerly-anticipated series follows Australia dominating the West Indies in Perth and Adelaide.
Green was barely required with bat or ball in those two commanding wins, making just 14 runs and taking two wickets.
But Cummins believes Green can get back to the type of form the 23-year-old displayed in the 2021-22 Ashes when he made 223 runs and grabbed 13 wickets.
"Two Tests matches into the summer and it feels like he's hardly got at it," Cummins said.
"He's got a huge role to play this series like he does every series.
"Somewhere like here (at the Gabba) I'll probably rotate the bowlers around to get him a shot with a swinging ball," Cummins said.
"He bowled beautifully here last year, he got the big wicket of Joe Root.
"Coming into the series he wasn't under any restrictions but he's still coming off a hamstring injury.
"We don't really want to burn him in the first couple of games.
"So any overs he didn't bowl in the first two Tests hopefully means he can bowl a few more here."
Green held his spot at No.6, with unlucky Queenslander Michael Neser making way for Cummins, who returns after missing the Adelaide Test with a quad injury.
Neser picked up five wickets in the second Test of his career, but was overshadowed by more Scott Boland magic.
Playing in his first Test since January, Boland backed up his Ashes heroics by taking three wickets during a stunning over as the West Indies collapsed in their second innings.
