Cuba Gooding Jr has been accused of rape in a new lawsuit.

The suit, filed on Tuesday in New York, alleges that the actor raped an anonymous woman twice in 2013.

The plaintiff, identified under the pseudonym Jane Doe, alleges that she was approached by Gooding at a Manhattan restaurant/lounge, and was invited to join him and his entourage at a hotel for drinks.

Once at the hotel, the woman alleges that Gooding motioned for her to get into an elevator and said he needed to change his clothes.

Inside the room, Gooding allegedly raped the woman twice.

Gooding’s attorney, Mark Jay Heller, told Reuters the allegations are untrue.

“The allegations are false. It’s an event that took place seven years ago. No complaint was ever lodged. We believe the allegations and the complaint will be dismissed,” Heller said.

Heller had no additional comment when reached by The Independent.

The woman is seeking a jury trial as well as compensatory and punitive damages.

Gooding, 52, won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar in 1997 for the film Jerry Maguire. He is known for roles in movies including A Few Good Men and The Butler, and in the television miniseries The People v OJ Simpson.

In 2019, the actor pleaded not guilty in New York to charges of groping three different women. Those criminal cases have yet to be resolved.
