Crystal Palace vs Manchester City LIVE!
Crystal Palace stunned Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final on Saturday to win the first major trophy of their 164-year history.
Eberechi Eze scored from Daniel Munoz’s cross on the counter-attack early in the first half and against the run of play to give Palace the lead, and they would dig in through the remaining 75 minutes to grind out a hard-fought win. Omar Marmoush saw his penalty saved by Dean Henderson shortly before halftime, the England international making several more key saves as Palace battled to the finish.
The goalkeeper could have been sent off in the first half as he was seen to have handled the ball outside the box, but VAR investigated the incident and did not mandate a dismissal. Try as they might, City could not muster a response, Palace ultimately getting the tie over the line as they secured a spot in next season’s Europa League. Follow the FA Cup final live below!

Crystal Palace 1-0 Man City
17:53 , Arthur Ferridge62mins: Lerma replaces Guehi, who still seems to be struggling with the after-effects of catching a full-bore Adam Wharton shot square in the face.
Crystal Palace 1-0 Man City
17:51 , Arthur Ferridge60mins: Celebrations are cut short. Munoz’s initial shot rebounded off Sarr, who was well offside, and as such the goal will not stand.

It may still be ruled out...

Dom Smith at Wembley Stadium

17:36 , Arthur FerridgeBack underway at Wembley Stadium.
HALF TIME: Crystal Palace 1-0 Man City
17:20 , Arthur FerridgeIt was an unconvincing first 20 minutes or so from Henderson, but he has now potentially written his name into Palace folklore with three massive saves to keep the Eagles ahead.
That penalty miss will keep Marmoush up at night for a little while unless City can pull it back in the second half to spare his blushes.
45 more minutes, up next.

Crystal Palace 1-0 Man City
17:15 , Arthur Ferridge43mins: Henderson does it again! Doku drops Munoz and curls one at goal from close range, but the keeper is at full stretch to deny him before De Bruyne launches a rebound well over the bar.
Crystal Palace 1-0 Man City
17:10 , Arthur Ferridge39mins: Unsurprisingly, that moment has not brought much of a momentum shift. City are still passing, passing, and passing in the final third.
Dom Smith at Wembley Stadium
17:08 , Arthur FerridgeThere will be plenty who feel Henderson should not have been on the pitch to save that penalty, due to the earlier incident. But what a stupendous save from the Englishman. Marmoush knew he hadn't struck it near enough to the corner and pays a high price. Palace's confidence will only grow.
Crystal Palace 1-0 Man City
17:08 , Arthur Ferridge36mins: Dean Henderson double save! Marmoush takes his time and goes low to the keeper’s right, and he gets a strong hand to it to deny the equaliser. Haaland follows up, but Henderson is again equal to it. Stunning from the keeper, who has looked shaky through the opening stages.
Crystal Palace 1-0 Man City
17:06 , Arthur Ferridge34mins: VAR at its confusing best here, taking a couple minutes to review what looks to be a stonewall penalty. The decision stands.
PENALTY! Crystal Palace 1-0 Man City

Crystal Palace 1-0 Man City
16:57 , Arthur Ferridge26mins: Given Haaland was moving away from goal, the VAR decides not to pull that back. Dean Henderson gets away with one.
Dom Smith at Wembley Stadium
16:56 , Arthur FerridgeThe Palace fans are absolutely booming, cheering their side on every step of the way in the Wembley sun. Long way to go yet, lads.
Crystal Palace 1-0 Man City
16:56 , Arthur Ferridge24mins: Another clumsy moment at the back from Henderson, who looks to have handled the ball outside the box as Haaland attempted to round him. VAR are investigating.
Crystal Palace 1-0 Man City
16:53 , Arthur Ferridge22mins: City are doing well to keep level heads here. They haven’t changed their approach to the tie at all despite going one down. Plenty of time left for them to build back into it.
Crystal Palace 1-0 Man City
16:51 , Arthur Ferridge19mins: Palace have a renewed sense of belief about them now. Eze finds Munoz on the right flank and he squares to Sarr, whose shot is well saved.
Dom Smith at Wembley Stadium
16:50 , Arthur FerridgeIt is the dream scenario for all in blue and red inside this stadium, Crystal Palace lead in the FA Cup final and the roar, when it happened, was immense.
Eze now has eight goals in his last 11 Palace matches and is as popular a goalscorer as anyone.
The last time he scored the opening goal of the game for the Eagles at Wembley was just 20 days ago, in a semi-final they won 3-0. Good omen?
GOAL! Crystal Palace 1-0 Man City
16:48 , Arthur Ferridge16mins: GOAL! PALACE FROM ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE AND EZE OPENS THE SCORING!
It is the second time Palace have crossed halfway, but a blistering counter sees Munoz break down the right. He finds Eze in the middle for a tap in.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Man City
16:45 , Arthur Ferridge14mins: City go close again - Bernardo crosses for Savinho, but Mitchell gets there first to put the ball behind for a corner, which Akanji heads over the bar.
Palace are absolutely under the cosh here, and just barely hanging on.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Man City
16:4413mins: Palace may be struggling off pitch, but they are towering over City off it. The noise coming from the red-and-blue half of the stadium is deafening.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Man City
16:43 , Arthur Ferridge12mins: Another corner for City and Gvardiol manages to head it at goal, but Henderson gets a strong hand to it - a routine save.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Man City
16:42 , Arthur Ferridge10mins: Warton dispossesses Haaland to trigger a counter-attack, but De Bruyne puts a prompt stop to it as he tackles Sarr from behind. Palace look to be dazzled by the occasion.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Man City
16:409mins: Kamada hoofs one up to Mateta for what might have been his first touch, but Akanji beats him to it.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Man City
16:39 , Arthur Ferridge7mins: O’Reilly launches a cross into the box from deep - Henderson catches it but can’t stick the landing and stumbles out to hand City a generous corner.
Dom Smith at Wembley Stadium
16:38 , Arthur FerridgeSmart stop that from Henderson, but you just felt Haaland was reaching a little too far for it. City in the mood at the start.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Man City
16:38 , Arthur Ferridge6mins: Henderson is called into action and he does well to deny Haaland’s acrobatic scissor-kick.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Man City
16:36 , Arthur Ferridge4mins: Hardly surprising, but it is City who have had the vast majority of the early possession. Given their title-winning experience, they should be the vastly more comfortable side in this tie.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Man City
16:34 , Arthur Ferridge2mins: Guehi trips Marmoush in his own half, handing City an early set piece about 35 yards from goal, which De Bruyne takes short.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Man City
16:32 , Arthur Ferridge1mins: We have an immediate stoppage as Gvardiol goes down hard, seeming to have knocked heads with Sarr, but he is fine to continue.
KICK-OFF! Crystal Palace 0-0 Man City
16:31 , Arthur FerridgeAnd we’re off! The FA Cup final is underway at a bouncing Wembley Stadium.
Dom Smith at Wembley Stadium
16:24 , Arthur FerridgeThe Palace pyro is well and truly out. What a display. The FA won't be happy, but they'll have known to expect it.
The players are out
16:24 , Arthur FerridgeThe players follow the FA Cup trophy out onto the pitch. Kick-off is imminent.
Dom Smith at Wembley Stadium
16:22 , Arthur FerridgeThe red and blue balloons that went rebounding around the press box during Palace's semi-final are threatening to do the same again. A number of journalists opting for the bat-it-away-immediately strategy.
Kick off comes next!
16:20 , Arthur FerridgeThe moment we have all been waiting for is very nearly here.
Just ten minutes remain until kick-off.
De Bruyne's last dance
16:15 , Arthur FerridgeDue to leave Manchester City when his contract expires at the end of this season, this match represents Kevin De Bruyne’s last opportunity to win silverware with the club.
Of course, he is not short on trophies through his first 10 years with the club, but he won’t mind one more for posterity.

Pep Guardiola speaks out
16:08 , Arthur FerridgeGuardiola reveals why he has named such an attacking lineup:
“This has been a tough season because our standard was so high. We are in the final of the FA Cup, we are contenders, it is normal that seasons we play will be different. Hopefully, we can show our best and lift a second title of the season.
“We try to create a team good in transition and really good with set pieces. For that, the only way to break up is talent. People with talent. That is why we decided in that way.”
Notable absences for City
16:04 , Arthur FerridgeNone of Rico Lewis, Mateo Kovacic, or James McAtee have made the matchday squad for today’s visitors.
They are not reported to be injured, meaning they will miss out for tactical reasons.
What of this Man City lineup?
15:59 , Arthur FerridgePep Guardiola, as ever, has rolled the dice with his squad. He names a heavily attacking lineup to try to overwhelm Palace’s back three.
Whether it works remains to be seen, but Foden will serve as a key weapon off the bench once legs start to get heavy towards the end of the match.
Dom Smith at Wembley Stadium
15:53 , Arthur FerridgeThe Palace line-up offers no surprises and matches that which started the semi-final, so convincingly swatting Aston Villa aside here just under a month ago.
Eagles fans would never have believed you if you'd told them at the beginning of the season that Daichi Kamada would be starting in the FA Cup final. Partly because they wouldn't have expected to get here, but largely because of the midfielder's indifferent performances for so much of this campaign.
He's really turned a corner of late and deserves to partner Adam Wharton in midfield.
Oliver Glasner is 'confident' ahead of kick off
15:51 , Arthur FerridgeCrystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner speaks ahead of kickoff, saying he is confident despite City’s wildcard rotation.
Of his team, he said: “I have confidence in them. They did so well over weeks and months and they know how we want to play. This is the most important thing, to do something special, something different. We make one or two adjustments. I have confidence and trust in the team.”

Dean Henderson: This is why we play
15:39 , Arthur FerridgeCrystal Palace goalkeeper Henderson speaks ahead of kick-off: “This is what you put all the hard work into. All the setbacks over the years are what you play for.
“The boys are buzzing. The lads are really looking forward to it, we know what we have to do. It's all about discipline today and hopefully scoring at the other end.
“Things are gonna have to go our way, individual performances will need to be high. Anything is possible.”

Palace arrive at Wembley
15:20 , Arthur FerridgeEze will be at the eye of the storm for Palace today. Can he work his magic again?

Team news up next!
15:11 , Arthur FerridgeThe FA Cup final lineups will be released shortly.
Crystal Palace vs Man City previous meetings
15:05 , Arthur FerridgeThe head-to-head does not read well for Oliver Glasner. His side are winless in two against City this year.
The Eagles fell to a 5-2 defeat after storming to an early lead at the Etihad in April, and drew 2-2 at Selhurst Park in December as Rico Lewis was shown a late red card.
Can he down City for the first time this season today?
Ruben Dias on the FA Cup final
14:56 , Arthur FerridgeRuben Dias is in line for a start today as he chases a second career FA Cup title. He is in the market for redemption as City face a rare trophyless season with a loss.
“It’s a massive [chance], even more after the season we’ve had, to be in this final stage and have the opportunity to lift the trophy. We know how good it feels to win the FA Cup and we know what it means to everyone, so it’s a big one for us.
“It’s a competition that means a lot to us. We’ve been defined by the Premier Leagues but I feel we’ve been defined by all of it: all the things we’ve got our hands on, for the way we played.”
Pep Guardiola is already looking ahead to the Premier League
14:48 , Arthur FerridgeAfter the FA Cup final, City will have just two days to prepare for a crunch Premier League tie against Bournemouth. It is a six-pointer in the race to qualify for Europe.
Pep Guardiola feels his squad will not have enough time to rest and recover ahead of that tie: “We have been fighting against these situations for nine years, every single season and nothing goes.
“We are going to play Tuesday night against one of the most intense and physical and direct and powerful teams in the Premier League – Bournemouth, who are playing for the Europa League or Conference qualification. It will be tough.”
Palace's route to the final
14:40 , Arthur FerridgePalace have not had an easy route to the final - they’ve been made to face two Premier League sides on the way and were involved in two London derbies.
Their 3-0 win over Aston Villa last time out is already being touted as one of the most memorable days in the club’s recent history, so too is the 3-0 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage the round prior.
Before that, they beat Stockport, Doncaster, and Millwall.
They are now just 90 minutes from glory.
The stage is set
14:32 , Arthur FerridgeWembley is ready for another final

Glasner: It means more for Palace
14:24 , Arthur FerridgeCity have been here and done it. They have won the FA Cup seven times. Palace, though, are yet to win the FA Cup, and for Glasner, that makes today far more special.
He said: “If something is the first time in your life then maybe it means more to you than when you have it every single year. City, I don’t know how many trophies they’ve won and finals they have played in under Pep.
“I don’t expect that they will wave us the white flag and say: ‘Okay, it’s the first title for Crystal Palace, you should get it.’ I think they will fight to win it.”
Will Guehi and Glasner jump ship this summer?
14:15 , Arthur FerridgeBoth Marc Guehi and Oliver Glasner have been linked with moves away from Selhurst Park this summer, and their curb appeal will only increase with a win today. Both are contracted through 2026 and have played down potential moves.
“My only focus is this game,” Guehi said, when asked on Friday afternoon whether he expects to still be a Palace player next season.
“My only focus is the fact that I am under contract at Palace. So as far as I am concerned, I am a Palace player.”
Glasner said: “It’s the same with Marc, and saying Marc’s contract ends next year and what I expect from the players I expect from myself. I didn’t think about my personal future.
“It’s the wrong time to think about your personal future. It’s the same reason I didn’t talk to any single player because it’s not the time to talk about it. And if you start to talk about it you get distracted and this is what we can’t allow.
“We can’t allow distractions, because we need 100 per cent focus, 100 per cent energy, 100 per cent togetherness to win this title otherwise it’s not possible. No player came to me and even wanted to speak about his personal future and I never talk about my personal future because it’s not the right time.

Two legends hope to bid their clubs farewell with silverware
14:07 , Arthur FerridgeToday will mark a last shot at silverware for Joel Ward and Kevin de Bruyne, both of whom are due to leave their clubs at the end of the season.
De Bruyne has enjoyed a trophy-laden spell at City, but Ward cannot say the same for his 13 years at Selhurst Park.
The Belgium international could add one last title to his resume, though Ward will look to help Palace to a first-ever major honour and cement his status as a club legend.
While he hasn’t played much of a role on-pitch this season, he is expected to be on the bench this afternoon.
Crystal Palace must seize moment to enter history books
13:58 , Arthur FerridgeMuch of the talk in the lead-up to judgement day has been about whether this is the most talented team in Crystal Palace’s history, whether they are the most likeable, whether they would be the most fitting winners of the club’s first-ever major trophy.
Those things may well all be true. They may well not be. The most important thing as far as Oliver Glasner and his high-flying Eagles are concerned is the opportunity that presents itself on Saturday.
Palace must seize the moment at Wembley, in front of around 40,000 of their fans and with more than £45,000 worth of tifos and displays to push them on.
Standard Sport's prediction
13:50 , Arthur FerridgeIn recent years, Palace have proved a thorn in City’s side, beating them at the Etihad Stadium twice.
That said, they have only defeated them once in London in that time - a 2-1 win at Selhurst Park in April 2015, where Glenn Murray and Puncheon were on the scoresheet.
Glasner’s side made light work of a good Villa team in the semi-finals and dismantled Tottenham with relative ease last week.
However, City have plenty of experience in cup finals, and that will count for a lot here.
Man City to win, 3-1.
Manchester City team news: Rodri makes the plane
13:45 , Arthur FerridgeRemarkably, Rodri is in contention for this tie and could make his first appearance since rupturing his ACL earlier this season. He has travelled to London with the Man City squad.
There is little other news to report from City, though, as John Stones, Oscar Bobb and Nathan Ake remain out for the season.
Crystal Palace team news: Wharton back in contention
13:40 , Arthur FerridgeIn a boost which cannot be overstated, Adam Wharton is available having returned from an ankle ligament injury and will likely start.
There are just two other absentees in Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure, both suffering with long-term knee issues.
