Crystal Palace vs Brighton confirmed XI: Benteke starts with Cahill and Townsend out

Roy Hodgson has made three changes changes to the side that drew with Watford for tonight's clash with Brighton.

The Eagles have been hit by multiple problems at the back with Patrick van Aaonholt, Jeffrey Schlupp and Joel Ward all out with injury, while Mamadou Sakho remains suspended after being sent off against Bournemouth.

Hodgson said 'there are one or two others who could be added to that list' and it seems that those names were Andros Townsend and Gary Cahill or are both absent from the squad.

Scott Dann replaces Cahill to line up alongside James Tomkins, while Christian Benteke makes his first start since August. Jairo Riedewald looks set to line up at left back after he replaced Jeffrey Schlupp against Watford.

Graham Potter has made three changes as Martin Montoya, Leandro Trossard and Yves Bissouma come into the starting XI.

Crystal Palace XI: Guaita; Kelly, Tomkins, Cahill, Riedewald; McArthur, Milivojevic, Kouyate; Townsend, Ayew, Zaha.

Brighton XI: Ryan; Montoya, Webster, Dunk, Burn; Propper, Bissouma, Mooy; Trossard, Maupay, Trossard
