Crystal Palace v Aston Villa: match preview

Crystal Palace v Aston Villa
Crystal Palace v Aston Villa: probable starters in bold, contenders in light Photograph: x

Crystal Palace have not been given long to bask in last weekend’s victory at Manchester United. Colchester brought them down to earth with a resounding bump in midweek and now, in the type of game they must dread, their ability to open up unfancied teams at home will be tested again. Aston Villa led and held out for some time at Spurs in their previous away match and, with Tyrone Mings leading their backline, will target this as a chance to build on that impressive win over Everton.
