Crystal Palace news: Striker's injury message, A January exit and the Eagles eye Man Utd man

Crystal Palace face one of the toughest fixtures in the Premier League this weekend, when they travel to the Etihad Stadium to take on reigning Premier League Champions Manchester City.

The Eagles go into the match off the back of a 1-1 draw with Arsenal in their last Premier League outing.

Palace will be hoping for a repeat of their last visit to Man City, when they came away as shock 3-2 winners in December 2018, in a game that included one of the goals of the season from Andros Townsend.

The transfer window is also open, with names being linked with a move to Selhurst Park on a daily basis.

Crystal Palace v Arsenal: Roy Hodgson post-match press conference

So, here's the latest news from South London over the last 24 hours.

Wesley's injury message

Aston Villa have provided competition to Palace in their pursuit of Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi.

The Belgian spent a successful second half of the season at Selhurst Park during the last campaign, with Palace again looking to take the striker off Chelsea's hands.

However, Villa are in desperate need of firepower after striker Welsey picked up a season ending injury, and have turned to Batshuayi as a possible option.

Wesley has now sent a message to fans regarding his injury.

Camarasa cuts short loan move

Crystal Palace have confirmed that on loan midfielder Victor Camarasa has returned to Spain after cutting his loan move at Selhurst Park short.

The 25-year-old has struggled for game time under Roy Hodgson, making just two appearances for the club.

Camarasa has now joined  La Liga side Alaves on loan until the end of the season.

Palace join Ashley Young race

Crystal Palace are eyeing a move for Manchester United man Ashley Young, according to reports.

The Express claim that the Eagles have joined Italian side Lazio in the race for the England international. A January transfer looks inevitable for the full-back, but could he find himself at Selhurst Park by time the window closes?
