Crystal Palace draw Derby County in FA Cup third round

Crystal Palace have been drawn against Derby County at home in the third round of the FA Cup.

The Eagles kick off their campaign in the competition at the start of 2020, with ties set to take place on the weekend of 3-6 January.

The draw, which was completed by former Arsenal captain Tony Adams and ex-Manchester City defender Micah Richards, saw Palace pulled out alongside the Championship side.

Both Championship and Premier League teams joined the draw for the first time this season, as lower league teams look to pull off a cup upset.

Phillip Cocu will take his side to Selhurst Park , looking to be one of the teams to beat a side in a higher division.

The game will will also kick off a minute later than the allotted time, due to the FA's link with the 'heads-up' campaign in an attempt to encourage supporters to take 60 seconds to think about their mental health.

The last meeting between the two clubs came in the Championship, saw the Eagles come away with a 1-0 win at Pride Park in March 2013, thanks to a Yannick Bolasie goal.

It is the first time that the two teams have played each other in the FA Cup.
