Crystal Palace confirm FOUR new contract extensions with Jeffrey Schlupp and James McArthur agreeing terms

Crystal Palace have confirmed a quartet of contract extensions ahead of the new season, including for James McArthur and Jeffrey Schlupp.

As well as the two midfielders, defender Martin Kelly and third-choice goalkeeper Stephen Henderson have also penned extensions.

The four players were all set to be out of contract in June next year, along with a host of other first-team players - including Christian Benteke.

Schlupp struggled with injuries last season, but, when fit, proved to be one Roy Hodgson's most dependable and creative players in a midfield severely lacking attacking flair.

“Last season was a difficult one at times due to injuries," said Schlupp.

"However, I’m delighted to have finished it off with a goal against Spurs, feeling 100 per cent and extending my time with the club.

"I’m already looking forward to hitting the ground running in a few weeks’ time when the season restarts.”

McArthur, who started every Premier League game bar one (a 4-0 defeat to Tottenham which he missed through injury) last season, said: “When I arrived here in 2014, I didn’t consider the fact that, six years later, I would be making my 200th appearance for the club as I did against Bournemouth last season.

"I’m proud of what the club has achieved during my time and I’m delighted to be carrying on here.”
