Croydon stabbing: Murder probe after teenager stabbed to death in south London

A murder probe has been launched after a teenager was stabbed to death in south London.

The victim, believed to be aged 19, was pronounced dead at the scene after he suffered multiple knife wounds.

Police were called at just after midnight on Wednesday to the scene in Alpha Road, Croydon.

His next of kin have been informed but a post mortem is yet to be held.

A police statement said: “Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 12:12hrs on Wednesday, 3 March to Alpha Road to a report of a man found with stab wounds. Officers attended.

“The man, believed to be aged 19, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after. A crime scene remains in place and

“Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime South command lead the investigation.

“At this early stage, there have been no arrests and enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
