Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, said that the Kingdom was the United States’ oldest ally in the Middle East.
His remarks were part of an interview he conducted with CBS news that will air on Sunday, two days before his scheduled meeting with US President Donald Trump.
He added that ties between Riyadh and Washington go back some 80 years.
“It is our duty as Saudis to always improve ties with our allies,” stressed Prince Mohammed.
The interview also tackled Iran, the war in Yemen, the campaign to combat corruption, and a number of other issues.
