Villarreal attacker Arnaut Danjuma has detailed the dialogue he had with Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portugal captain netted the last-minute winner against Unai Emery's side in the Champions League.
Paco Alcacer gave the Spaniard's a deserved lead early in the second half after they dominated the first half with David de Gea and poor finishing costing the visitors.
Danjuma assisted the opener but Alex Telles' volley restored parity before Ronaldo thumped home after a scramble in the box to ensure United's first win in the Champions League in late September.
Despite the 36-year-old's headline and points stealing winner, it was the former Bournemouth man who took the spotlight picking up the man-of-the-match award.
The 24-year-old isn't short of admirers with Liverpool previously linked with his services, but his displays for the Europa League winners will do nothing but good for his rising stock in eastern Spain.
Throughout the clash, the Dutchman was a threat wreaking havoc on the United backline and after the game was surprised by a request from the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
“Who else? [But Cristiano Ronaldo] I did take his man of the match trophy from him, though," he told Voetbal International.
“When I’m on a football field, I’m equal to everyone. But Ronaldo is, of course, a phenomenon.
“Afterwards, we swapped shirts. He said: ‘You played a good game, congratulations.’ He’s actually a very sweet boy.
“You know what was really nice? He insisted I give him my shirt. Cristiano Ronaldo now has a shirt at home with Danjuma on the back.”
